1:30 pm to 2:30 pm - The Future of Gas - From Conventional to Unconventional
Presenter: Brad Hayes, President, Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd.

Brad Hayes is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Sc. 1978) and the University of Alberta (Ph.D 1982), majoring in Geology. He began his petroleum industry career with Shell Canada Resources, then moved to Canadian Hunter Exploration, where he directed a multi-year exploration program which opened up the British Columbia Deep Basin as a major gas-producing area in Canada. Brad developed exploration plays with smaller producing companies in Calgary in the early 1990’s, then in 1996, he joined Petrel Robertson to work petroleum exploration and development projects in Canada and abroad..
Brad has worked in most producing and prospective basins in Canada, and his international experience includes hydrocarbon-bearing basins in North and South America, Africa, and Asia. He has developed particular expertise in clastic reservoirs and unconventional gas resources during his career at Petrel Robertson.
Brad has published and lectured extensively, and conducts field- and lab-based geological training courses with Petrel Robertson. He is an active member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, and served as its President in 2001. He is also a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Geological Association of Canada, and is registered as a Professional Geologist in Alberta (APEGGA) and B.C. (APEGBC).

Presenter: Darlene Chuka, Supply Team Leader, Public works and Government Services Canada
Darlene Chuka began her career with PWGSC in Saskatchewan in 1988, as the Client and Supplier Promotions officer. Over the years she worked extensively with the supplier community offering “How to Do Business” seminars throughout the Province. In 2002, she moved to Edmonton and worked in PWGSC Acquisitions as a Program Advisor. In her current role in the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises, Darlene continues to help the supplier community navigate the procurement system.
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm - New Extraction Technologies and Supply Chain Opportunities
Presenter: George Brindle, Manager, Facilities Engineering, Laricina Energy Ltd.

George is currently the Manager, Facilities Engineering at Laricina Energy Ltd. George joined Laricina in 2007 after nearly twenty years as a consulting engineer, specializing in facilities for thermal recovery projects. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science from Queen's University in Kingston, and an MBA from Haskayne School of Business in Calgary. He is widely recognized within the Canadian heavy oil community as a leading authority in surface facilities for thermal and conventional heavy oil development processes. George has twenty-two years of heavy oil industry experience and has executed projects in Canada, Alaska, Europe, the Middle and Far East. He is married to Jenny and has two boys Oliver (6) and William (4). His greatest passions outside his family are hiking, biking, sailing, rowing, volunteering with the boy scouts, fishing and anything else outdoors.

Presenter: Walter Lee, Associate Partner, Supply Chain Management Consulting, IBM Canada
Walter is the practice leader in Canada for IBM’s Supply Chain Management group at IBM’s Global Business Services (GBS) division. In his current role, Walter manages the Procurement and Supply Chain Strategy practice. His industry focus spans the Industrial Products and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sectors with strong experience in electronics, oil and gas, process manufacturing, automotive, CPG, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and retail.
Over the last 12 years, Walter provided leadership for several Supply Chain re-engineering programs, business transformation initiatives, strategic cost reduction programs and technology enablement projects. Walter often oversees client engagements involving supply chain strategy development, operational business assessments, operational deployment, customer collaboration, strategic sourcing, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, vendor management, commodity management, master data management, and ERP implementations. In 2009, Walter led the GBS Canada service offering for Low Cost Country Sourcing and ILOG Supply Chain Optimization. Walter is a frequent speaker in the areas of Procurement and Optimization.
