About Alberta's Industrial Heartland
Incorporated in 1998, Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association (AIHA) is a unique partnership of four municipalities (Strathcona, Sturgeon, and Lamont counties plus the City of Fort Saskatchewan), three levels of government and industry. Collectively these partners envisioned value-added industrial investment via streamlined processes and a positive business environment. Proactive planning has ensured room to grow on land already zoned to accommodate a range of industrial and related business uses. Through the Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association potential investors have access to a strong, supportive, municipal and provincial business environment along with the resources and networks required to make timely and profitable decisions.
With regional and global linkages, the district's 40 plus industrial facilities are engaged in such diverse activities as fertilizer production, resource refinement, petrochemical development and mineral processing, to name a few.
