Waiward Steel Fabricators Ltd., (Waiward), is an Alberta based steel fabricating company that began operations in 1972 with fabrication and installation of structural steel. Now one of the largest and most automated steel fabrication facilities in Canada, Waiward has the equipment and crane capacity to handle oversized components.
From the engineering stage to the final phases of installation, our highly qualified staff is available to take on the most challenging projects.

About Don Oborowsky, President and CEO
Donald J. Oborowsky (Don) was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan and has been a resident of Edmonton, Alberta for the last 34 years. In 1969 Don attended the carpentry apprenticeship program at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). He commenced his career in residential and commercial construction and evolved to become a fitter and erector of steel structures. During this time, Don made many friendships and acquaintances in the steel industry including his current business partner, Ted Degner (Ted).
In addition to his business commitments, Don serves on several occupation related and community focused committees and organizational boards. Don is also committed to supporting the University of Alberta Department of Civil Engineering, Engineering and Management Program for the future benefit of construction quality and efficiency.
Out of work, Don is very involved with his family and is both dedicated and devoted to their well being. He is married to Judy and they have two children, Shonn and Sharleen.
