About James Cleland:
James in the Director of Metal Fabrication for the Investment and Industry Development Branch at Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry. He works with Alberta's metal fabrication industry to develop strategies that will enhance their competitiveness and increase capacity in the sector.
He has a management certificate from the University of Calgary as well as a trades certificate in precision metal fabrication from Red River College in Winnipeg. He continued his technical education part time at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and is a member of ASET, the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta.
Before joining the the department 3 years ago he was Vice President and General Manager of All New Manufacturing, a Calgary based custom metal manufacturer. He grew that business from a staff of 4 to over 140 in less than 10 years. James also served on the board of directors for the Alberta chapter of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters while working in the private sector. In total he has spent 20 years working in the metal fabrication industry.
